Buying and selling marriages is illegal. Fanneng Law Firm reminds that according to the relevant provisions of China's Civil Code, buying and selling marriage is a marriage prohibited by law. Buying and selling marriage refers to a marriage formed by a third party, including parents, who violate the principle of marital autonomy and force others to obtain property. Marriage arrangements such as changing parents, transferring parents, and child brides are all manifestations of different forms of arranged marriages. Marriage through buying and selling is a cancer left over from thousands of years of feudal society.

If there are any uncertainties, the authority shall inquire with the parties and, if necessary, may require them to provide relevant supporting materials.
