How do Chinese citizens, foreigners and foreign Chinese handle marriage registration

If Chinese citizens and foreigners (including foreigners residing in China and temporarily coming to China, Chinese foreigners, and foreign nationals residing in China) voluntarily marry, both men and women must apply for marriage registration at the registration offices of local civil affairs bureaus at the same time. When applying, it is necessary to comply with the provisions of the People's Republic of China.
Chinese citizens, foreigners and foreign Chinese who apply for marriage shall not be older than 22 for men and 20 for women. The following documents must be held separately:
（1） Chinese citizens
１. My registered residence certificate (household register, ID card);
２. Marriage status certificate issued by my workplace or urban street office, rural township (town) people's government
（2） Foreigners, foreign Chinese
１. My passport or other identification or nationality documents;
２. The Alien Residence Certificate issued by our public security organ, or the identity certificate issued by the foreign affairs department, or the entry and residence certificate for a temporary visit to China;
３. A marriage status certificate issued by a notary public in the country, authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (or an authorized agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and our embassy or consulate in that country; Or a marriage status certificate issued by the embassy or consulate of the country in China;
４. Foreign students studying in vocational schools, colleges, and undergraduate programs are generally not allowed to get married during their school years. If other students (such as continuing education students, graduate students, etc.) request to marry Chinese citizens, in addition to holding the above-mentioned certificates, they must also hold a certificate of academic achievement from their respective universities;
５. The divorce certificate or spouse's death certificate of the remarried person (the divorce certificate needs to be authenticated by the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country, or directly authenticated by the embassy or consulate in that country).
In addition, both the male and female applicants must undergo pre marital health check ups at a hospital designated by the marriage registration authority; Submit three 2-inch photos of a half body, bareheaded group photo of both the male and female parties, which must be reviewed by the marriage registration authority.
