A person in charge of the Social Affairs Department of the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau said that some districts, counties and cities in Chengdu have taken the lead. For instance, Xindu District began to offer free marriage registration services several years ago. It is reported that last year, there were 232,691 marriage registrations in the city (including marriage, divorce and reissuance of the second certificate).
