Mrs. Wang, who is 88 years old this year, has 8 children (her second son passed away a few years ago). She was supposed to enjoy her later years peacefully, but unexpectedly, the village was demolished and her children became estranged over compensation housing. They even thought that Mrs. Wang's distribution was unfair and refused to fulfill their obligation to support her. Helplessly, the elderly person sued their children and demanded that each child pay a monthly alimony of 500 yuan and visit them at least twice a month, spending no less than 2 hours with them each time. At the same time, it is required that the third son must allocate 110 square meters of resettlement housing to her in the future, so that she can have a home to live in.

On July 8th, the Zhongyuan District Court in Zhengzhou made a judgment on this case: ordering each of the seven children to pay an elderly support fee of 300 yuan per month and accompany the elderly for 4 hours per month. After the verdict was announced, the judge gifted several sentences from the "Di Zi Gui" to the plaintiff's children. Chen Long, the third son who was accused by the old man and his family, regretted his mistakes in the past and offered 5000 yuan to his mother in court, saying that he would support his mother with his brothers and sisters in the future.
Court ruling: Children accompany the elderly for 4 hours per month
On June 16th of this year, the court held a hearing to hear this case. In court, each of the seven children expressed their own opinions but could not reach a consensus.
After unsuccessful coordination, the court announced the verdict of this case yesterday morning, and all seven children of Mrs. Wang appeared in court to await the verdict. After trial, the court held that China's Marriage Law clearly stipulates that "children have the obligation to support and assist their parents. When children fail to fulfill their obligation to support their parents, parents who are unable to work or have financial difficulties have the right to demand that their children pay support. The seven defendants, as children, have the obligation to provide support and assistance to Mrs. Wang when she is unable to work or facing financial difficulties. The seven children cannot prevent Mrs. Wang's support issues from being properly resolved due to demolition issues.
The court believes that Wang Laotai's request for the seven defendants to visit at least twice a month and accompany each other for no less than 2 hours is in compliance with the relevant legal provisions of China's "Law on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Elderly", and the court supports it.
The court then made a judgment that each of the seven children should pay a monthly alimony of 300 yuan to the elderly and spend 4 hours with the elderly every month.
The third son repented and said he would not make his mother feel cold again in the future
After the verdict was read out, the presiding judge Wang Bin gave several sentences from the "Disciple Rules" to the seven defendants. "Brothers are friends, and brothers are respectful; brothers are harmonious, and filial piety is in the middle. Dear me, why is filial piety difficult? My relatives hate me, and filial piety is good." Judge Wang warned them that brothers and sisters should love and help each other, and live in harmony. The old man only wants the care of their children, and hopes that their children will often go home to see.
After listening to the judge's words, recalling his mother's love for him, Chen Long, the third son, regretted his mistakes in the past. He took the initiative to give 5000 yuan to Old Lady Wang in court, saying that he would support his mother with his brothers and sisters in the future, so that the old man would never feel cold again.
